The proposal launched by FIA President Ben Sulayem to aim for an atmospheric engine in the future is causing discussion among the Manufacturers in F1. There is even speculation of bringing forward the debut of this 3000cc engine coupled with a mini Kers to 2028 or 2029 instead of 2031. A search in the archives for a drawing of a 10-cylinder brought back pleasant memories of the seasons when BMW entered F1. I was in charge of the technical part of the German manufacturer’s website with an incredible amount of work in the 2006/7/8/9 seasons, documenting each GP with a full view and development details on the single-seaters. Also a kind of technical lexicon of modern F1 with the evolution of the technical regulations.
